(What is "soft sculpture", you ask?  Soft sculpture critters are fabric animals (sewn, needle-felted, etc...), often with a wire armature.)

Happy Valentine's Day
to everyone!

This heart (somewhere between the shape of a real human heart and a Valentine heart) was made by using a rat hole-punch on pictures of rose bouquets.

See, rats and Valentine's CAN go together!

I am honoured to share with you the following news:  my critters are in a Russian doll magazine!

In the March 2011 issue of Doll Master, Seian, Sarah Bratbie and Melusine appear on pages 81-83 in an article featuring Canadian Teddy bear artists!  (Thank you again Alexandra!)  The magazine includes some extraordinary doll art; it's wonderful to get a glimpse of the Russian art doll scene and even more thrilling to have my girls included with these incredibly imaginative and unique creations!

I am thrilled to have an English translation of my critters' part of the article!  Thank you so much, Nina!  It is a joy to know what was written about my girls, and so flattering!
